Elm PTO is led by parent volunteers who work together to support Elm students, teachers, staff, and families. Our Executive Board oversees PTO operations and planning, while Committee Chairs coordinate the programs, events, and services offered throughout the school year.

2026 - 2027 Executive Board

The Executive Board provides leadership, financial oversight, communication, and long-range planning for Elm PTO.

 

President: Haley Zaffar   president@elmschoolpto.org

Oversees PTO operations and works closely with the Executive Board, Elm administration, and District 181 PTO leaders. The President facilitates meetings, coordinates school approvals, and helps ensure PTO programs and decisions support the organization’s mission.

 

Vice President: Julie Reddy   vicepresident@elmschoopto.org

Supports the President and Executive Board with daily operations, planning, and special projects. The Vice President also assists with committee coordination and fulfills the President’s responsibilities when needed.

 

Secretary: Meredith Nabavi    secretary@elmschoolpto.org

Maintains official PTO records, prepares meeting agendas and minutes, manages important documents, and helps keep PTO information organized and accessible.

 

Communications Chair: Judy Chan  communications@elmschoolpto.org

Oversees PTO communications, including Bowser Notes, website content, email announcements, social media coordination, flyers, and other promotional materials.

 

Treasurer Co-Chairs: Chris Juarez & Rick Schneider  treasurer@elmschoolpto.org

Manage the PTO’s finances, including budgeting, financial reporting, reimbursements, invoice payments, record- keeping, and coordination with the PTO’s accountant for annual tax filings.

 

Ways & Means Co-Chairs: Sangeeta Schroeder & Megan Mirro  waysandmeans@elmschoolpto.org

Lead the PTO’s fundraising strategy and coordinate major fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, community partnerships, and other revenue-generating initiatives.

 

Room Parent Co-Chairs: Brittany Stevens & Molly McAlinden  roomparents@elmschoolpto.org

Recruit and support classroom Room Parents, provide communication and planning resources, coordinate classroom celebrations, and help connect teachers, families, and the PTO.

Student Programs & School Services 

Book Fair: April Kentala & Amy Heinz    bookfair@elmschoolpto.org

Coordinates Elm’s annual book fair, including planning, volunteer support, student shopping, and communication with families.

 

Bike Rodeo: Tina Shima    admin@elmschoolpto.org

Coordinates Elm’s bike safety event and works with the school, volunteers, and community partners to help students practice safe riding skills. This is event is for 3rd graders only.

 

Directory: Marissa Georges    directory@elmschoolpto.org

Manages Elm’s online family directory using contact information families choose to share during registration.

 

Science Fair: Pooja Sardesai & Divya Sharma    sciencefair@elmschoolpto.org

Coordinate Elm’s student science event and support students as they explore scientific questions, prepare projects, and share their work with the school community.

 

Special Lunch: Judy Chan  admin@elmschoolpto.org

Coordinates Elm’s special lunch program, including scheduling, restaurant selections, ordering information, reminders, and volunteer needs.

 

Spirit Wear: Jami Broucek & Rutvi Doshi   admin@elmschoolpto.org

Select and manage Elm-branded merchandise, coordinate ordering and payments, and oversee the distribution of spirit wear purchases.

 

Yearbook: Yizhou Yin   yearbook@elmschoolpto.org

Coordinates yearbook photography, content, layout, ordering, production, and distribution to create a lasting record of the school year.

 

FAMILY & COMMUNITY

Community & Culture: Sumi Pitroda & Judy Chan   communityandculture@elmschoolpto.org

Plans thoughtful initiatives that help Elm feel welcoming, connected, inclusive, and service-minded. Projects may include community service opportunities, cultural celebrations, family traditions, and schoolwide kindness initiatives.

Plans family-friendly events that give Elm families opportunities to have fun, build friendships, and feel more connected to the school community.

Plans activities and recognition throughout the year to show appreciation for Elm teachers, administrators, and staff.

Coordinates the beginning-of-year gathering that welcomes new and returning Elm families and provides an opportunity to connect with other parents and PTO volunteers.

 

FUNDRAISING & OUTREACH 

Restaurants & Merchants: Taylor Pappas & Lindsay Ward    restaurantsandmerchants@elmschoolpto.org

Develop partnerships with local restaurants and businesses, schedule give-back events, and share opportunities that allow families to support Elm while shopping or dining locally.

 

Social Media: Molly Sikora    socialmedia@elmschoolpto.org

Creates and coordinates PTO social media content to promote events, volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, reminders, and highlights from the Elm community.

Maintains and updates the PTO website so families can easily find event information, registration links, volunteer opportunities, forms, resources, and PTO updates.

Elm PTO programs are made possible by volunteers. You don’t need to chair a committee or make a year-long commitment to help. Many opportunities involve assisting with one event, completing a task from home, or volunteering for a short shift.
